• NOW is a product specifically developed for the schooling and education sector which focusses on student well-being, especially for students with behavioural issues and learning difficulties.
• One of the difficulties faced by these students is they find it difficult to communicate their anxiety or stress within the traditional classroom environment. When this occurs, it is often accompanied by an emotional outburst which is often misconstrued as ‘bad behaviour’.
• Typically, SEP/SWD departments are constrained by the growing number of incidents and cases with the classroom environment.
Our Solution
• School is to install NOW on the student’s computer.
• Communication is only facilitated between student and their teacher.
• Access to historical communication information is managed and controlled by the school and is primarily used in parent teacher interviews.
Benefits
• Students. Stress free, non-judgemental, direct communication between teacher and student to improve confidence and safety in expression. This will alleviate negative peer pressure and bullying in the classroom.
• Teachers. Creates the environment where teachers can intervene much earlier and have a positive outcome for the entire classroom.
• Parents. Can have greater confidence that their children’s needs are being communicated to the teacher within a direct and non-threatening environment. Follow up information for parent/teacher interviews or on request matters is readily available to improve accountability.
• NOW is non-distracting during class time and is aimed at enhancing the learning capacity of each student and to improve the teaching performance of teachers (i.e. to let them do what they do best – teach!)
